  • When the user is trying to access a file folder that has privilege or permission issues.

How can I resolve the QuickBooks Error 1321: The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify?

Windows XP Professional:

  • Select start> my computer> select the tools> Folder options.

  • Tick on the view tab.

  • Click OK and uncheck the use simple file sharing option(Advanced Settings section).

  • Select the start and click on the run.

  • Write C:\system32\windows\Flash\Macromed and tick on Ok.

  • Right tick on Flash Player Trust file folder and choose the properties.

  • Choose the security tab

  • Make system and administrators is listed and grants for security are set to complete control.

  • Click Advanced.

  • Tick on Advanced and check the replace permission entries.

  • Tick on the owner tab.

  • Choose the Administrators

  • Tick on the replace owner on objects and sub containers.

  • Tick on ok and tick on ok again the warning that displays.

  • Reinstall Point Products or Adobe Creative Suite 4

QuickBooks Error 1321

Windows XP Home:

  • Restart windows in safe mode.

  • Hold the F8 before system starts.

  • Choose the Safe Mode from the list of startup option.

  • Safe Mode should appear in each corner of the desktop.

  • If the system indicates that the window is running in Safe M ode, then tick on ok.

  • Select the start>my system> select the tools>click on file folders options.

  • Tick on the view tab and tick on uncheck of simple file sharing option from the advanced settings options.

  • Tick on ok and select the run and click ok

  • Right tick on the Flash Player Trust file folder and choose the Properties.

  • Choose the security tab and click on Advanced.

  • Tick on the replace permission entries and tick on the owner tab.

  • Select Administrators.

  • Choose the Administrators and check the Replace Owner on Objects and Sub containers.

  • Tick on ok and ok on the warning that displays.

  • The user can reinstall the Adobe Creative Point Products or Suite 4

Windows Vista:

  • Choose Start

  • Select the start button and write C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\ and tick on ok.

  • Right tick on the FlashPlayerTrust folder and choose the Properties

  • Choose the Security tab.

  • In case the system and Administrators are not in control

  • Click Edit

  • Tick on edit and follow the UAC elevation prompt.

  • Tick on Edit and tick on UAC elevation prompt

  • Tick on ok button and tick on again owner tab.

  • Tick on Edit and follow the UAC elevation prompt.

  • Choose the Quickbooks Administrators and replace Owner on Sub containers And Objects

  • The user can reinstall the Point Products. Or Creative Suite the Adobe Creative Suite 4

Command line:

  • This solution steps can be used on all versions of Windows system but needs the command prompt utility.

  • The user can open command prompt with administrative previleges.

  • Select the start and click on run and write CMD in the open box and tick on ok button.

For Windows Vista:

Number @ 1800-865-4183.

  • Choose Start > Accessories.

  • Select the start and accessories and right select tick on command line.

  • Choose run as Administrator.
